Interdependence and Bodhicitta ~ a teaching at Saraha by Lama Tsering Gyaltsen

    <

Lama Tsering Gyaltsen Teaching at Saraha Saturday, Feb. 2, 2-4:30 pm

    On the subject:

The Theory and Practice of Calm-Abiding Meditation

Continuously led astray by the turbulent streams of our thoughts, emotions and sense perceptions, we and all sentient beings wander on and on in Samsara’s suffering. In Buddhism, meditation is the main tool employed to help get us out of this mess. Step one is overcoming our inveterate habits of mental distraction. Once this is accomplished, our minds become more open, clear and spacious, flexible and yet obedient to our own intentions, and habits of negative emotionality naturally decline. In short, our minds become more beneficial and positive as vehicles for ourselves, and potentially for others as well. This training starts with the practice of Calm Abiding meditation.

In this one-day teaching event at Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Temple, Lama Tsering Gyaltsen discussed Calm Abiding, gave instruction in techniques, and lead guided meditation practice in the methods of Calm Abiding.

Open to the public. Beginners welcome.    CLICK HERE FOR EVENT POSTER
