Teaching Seminar and Webcast at Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute
From Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, Buddhist teachers Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro, who are principal translators of the Light of Berotsana translation group, will visit Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute and offer teachings in a weekend seminar entitled:
"Buddha's Voice, a Seminar in Buddhist Translation"
Schedule:
Friday, May 9 : (Guru Rinpoche Day)
6-9 pm: Welcoming Event, Group meditation practice, Tsok & public potluck dinner at Saraha
Saturday, May 10 :
First Session : : 10:00 - 12 pm,
"The Subject of Translation, the Earliest Days and the Present" with Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro
Second Session : 1 pm - 3 pm,
"The Act of Translating" with Lama Chonam
3rd session : 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm,
"Personal Tales - the Path of Becoming a Translator" with Sangye Khandro
Sunday, May 11
4th session : 10 am - 12 pm,
"Answering Questions, and an Object Lesson in Team Translation" with Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro
12 pm, Translation Seminar concluding address
Cost of Attendance (suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds):
Individual Session's On Site: $10
All weekend events: $50
Webinar attendance (per session): $10
...An onsite vegetarian lunch will be available at a cost of $10 per head.
