Buddha's Voice Translation Seminar : with Lama Chonam & Sangye Khandro

Teaching Seminar and Webcast at Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute

From Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11, Buddhist teachers Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro, who are principal translators of the Light of Berotsana translation group, will visit Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute and offer teachings in a weekend seminar entitled:

"Buddha's Voice, a Seminar in Buddhist Translation"

Schedule:

Friday, May 9 : (Guru Rinpoche Day)

6-9 pm: Welcoming Event, Group meditation practice, Tsok & public potluck dinner at Saraha

Saturday, May 10 :

First Session : : 10:00 - 12 pm,

"The Subject of Translation, the Earliest Days and the Present" with Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro

Second Session : 1 pm - 3 pm,

"The Act of Translating" with Lama Chonam

3rd session : 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm,

"Personal Tales - the Path of Becoming a Translator" with Sangye Khandro

Sunday, May 11

4th session : 10 am - 12 pm,

"Answering Questions, and an Object Lesson in Team Translation" with Lama Chonam and Sangye Khandro

12 pm, Translation Seminar concluding address

Cost of Attendance (suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds):

Individual Session's On Site: $10
All weekend events: $50
Webinar attendance (per session): $10


...An onsite vegetarian lunch will be available at a cost of $10 per head.

  1. send an email to webcast@saraha.org informing that you would like to attend the webcast
  2. please make a donation (suggested $10 per event/day) by paypal (click donate button above) to Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute to support this event...
  3. on receipt of your email and notification of donation, Saraha will send you by email a link  to login to the live webcast via Fuzebox.com.

 There are two ways for you to attend the event, by call-in (voice only) or with online streaming,  via the Internet. 

Option 1: Attending Webcast via Call-In (audio only)

If you want to attend via call in (audio only), you do not have to do the internet steps described below. In that case, just send the contact email (with donation if required) to webcast@saraha.org, together with your name and telephone number.  At the time of the event, Fuze will call your phone, (or you can call Fuze at the toll free number provided to you) you connect, and you can listen to the webcast that way. 

Option 2: Attending Webcast via Internet Streaming

If however, you want to attend the webcast with live streaming of video and audio on your computer, ipad or smartphone you need to do the following:

  1. go to the website  Fuzebox.com
  2. create an account and download meeting software
  3. install meeting software on the computer, ipad or smartphone you intend to use for the webcast
  4. at the time of the webcast, go on the internet, open the meeting software and  login to the webcast, using the meeting id provided to you in advance by Saraha
