Saraha Community Presents Benefit Events

Saraha brings together a community of kind-hearted people from diverse backgrounds, and with many different talents and skills. These include skills of healing, arts and all kinds of practical trades. "Saraha Community Presents" is an ongoing series of Benefit Events intended to share the particular styles of love and wisdom these individuals have with the community at large. Proceeds from these non-profit events provide much-needed financial support to Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute and Saraha Children's School.

Sat. Jan. 16 : Finding the Balance : Nutrition & Yoga for Anti-Inflammatory Living

Finding the Balance : Nutrition and Yoga for Anti Inflammatory Living : with Jenny Noland and Natacia Hicks : a Saraha Community Presents benefit event for Saraha Children's School

A Saraha "Community Presents" seminar event led by certified nutritional health coach and yoga instructor, and Saraha Children's School Parent, Jenny Noland and University of Oregon/Sweaty Ganesh Yoga Instructor Natacia Hicks entitled: "Nutrition & Yoga for Anti-Inflammatory Living"

This event will feature Jenny Noland teaching how to use nutrition as part of a healthy, anti-inflammatory lifestyle, followed by one hour of yoga instruction and practice in methods to support this nutritional approach. Students should bring stretchy yoga-able clothes, and mats, if they desire to participate in the yoga portion of this event.

Sat. Jan. 16, 2-5 pm. $20 per person non-profit donation, with proceeds going to support Saraha Children's School.

Sat. Feb. 13, 2-4 pm : Food for Bodhisattvas : Vegetarian Thinking, Cooking and Living for the Love of Dharma, Animals, People and Planet : with Heidi Nevin : a Saraha "Community Presents" benefit event for Saraha Nyingma Buddhist Institute and Children's School

Join us Sat. Feb. 13 when Tibetan translator and Dharma practictioner Heidi Nevin will lead this seminar event on Dharma qualities, health and ecological benefits of vegetarian living.   Heidi will discuss the benefits of vegetarianism for spiritual development and longevity, as demonstrated by several prominent Tibetan Buddhist masters, including her own root teacher, Kyabje Chatral Rinpoche, as well as for slowing the pace of global climate change.     She will bring along her favorite vegetarian cookbooks and some tasty treats to share.  for more information/background on this event, CLICK HERE...

Sat. April 9 : Building a Healing Community : with Dr, Priya Carden

Saturday April 9 : 1-3 pm : Community Presents Benefit Event : Building a Healing Community : Transforming Care for the Living and Dying through Direct Care Medicine, with Dr. Priya Carden.   

In this non-profit donation benefit event,  Dr. Priya Carden, who is a dual- certified MD in Internal as well as Hospice & Palliative Medicine here in Eugene, will outline her vision of Direct Care Medicine. Having recently founded her own clinic, Maple Tree Healing, which is deliberately independent from the restrictions of third party payers and insurance companies, Dr. Priya will discuss how this organization allows her to provide more personalized, holistic health care to her patients, and how it offers an opportunity to involve the healing power of community as support to the health and healing process.

As we all learn to care for one another in this life, please join us for this groundbreaking and certainly interesting and informative event. This seminar is being conducted as a mutual fundraising benefit event for Saraha Children's School and Dr. Priya's practice, for the School and to support the care of indigent patients. 

$20 donation with tickets available in advance at the Saraha Office or at Maple Tree Health care, or at the door on the day of the event.
